These migrants arriving by boat in the EU.

I know too little about them to say whether they are genuinely fleeing persecution. However they are a big headache for David Cameron, who wants to bring forward the EU referendum to 2016 after obtaining some concessions on immigrants' UK state benefits, which he would present as a good enough reason to stay in.

It is likely that by next year the African migrants issue will not only be unresolved, but will be much more critical. That will probably thwart any plan to hold an early referendum, because the issue would add to the reasons to leave the EU.

I have these deep insights sometimes.

Food worth almost £2million is being
written off each month because stowaways
have broken into lorries heading
for Britain, it emerged yesterday.
Freight bosses revealed that £10 million
of fresh fruit and vegetables had
been thrown away since the start of the
year amid fears over deteriorating
levels of security at the port of Calais.
In many cases, food is dumped after
being rejectedby shops and distributors
who are concerned that it has been
“contaminated” by groups of migrants
found inside HGVs. Write-offs are
being reported almost every day, it
was said.
The disclosure was made as it was
announced that the Freight Transport
Association (FTA) had written to the
mayor of Calais to call for her support
for a campaign to tackle the worsening
situation around migrant camps in
northern France.
The FTA wants to put pressure on the
French and British governments —
along with the European Union — to
improve security and move groups of
migrants away from the port.
The number of migrants from
countries such as Somalia, Syria, Libya
and Afghanistan has swelled to about
3,000 near the northern French port,
double the number a year ago.

Why do they always travel by 'boat' , and not a more civilised or refined mode of transport?

Were they to venture here by catamaran, yacht, horsed carriage or a small launch sprung from one of the cunard liners, one would like to think they might be welcomed with a pliant and warm embrace, served tea and cucumber sandwiches upon the jetty.

I rather fear that the base nature of their transport is part of the problem. Were they to be schooled in more elevated methods of voyage and more agreeable vessels they may find a more fitting reception.

The orient express would be another option for these migrants, and would afford comfortable sleeping quarters and a water closet to ensure their dress and general comportment were in order

Many will like the way the Ausies keep out the Emigrant's but they make James bond villains look sweet and cuddly, they are always bad mouthing Poms yet they have to be some of the most racist vile people on Gods earth, obviously not all of them but a big enough majority in their country to have such an inhuman policy toward many of the most persecuted humans on earth .
